ALTIS INTERNATIONAL JOINS KUMPULAN MODAL PERDANA AS INVESTOR IN SYMMID CORPORATION SDN BHD

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 June 2011 - A Partnership and Investment Agreement signing ceremony was held on June 30th, 2011, whereby Altis International finalized its investment in Symmid Corporation, previously a fully owned subsidiary of Kumpulan Modal Perdana.

The event was graced by Y.B. Senator Datuk Dr. Awang Adek bin Hussin, Deputy Minister of Finance II, Ministry of Finance, Malaysia and His Excellency Mr. Marc Barety, Ambassador of France in Malaysia.

This partnership will enable Symmid to develop new semiconductor products for high-growth market segments such as power management, LED lighting and solar energy. Symmid will also continue to provide world-class design services, to spur the local integrated circuit (IC) design industry and in the process become a Malaysian world-class company.

The agreement will facilitate knowledge transfer to Symmid and to the Malaysian semiconductor ecosystem, and at the same time will allow Altis to leverage on the highly skilled engineering talents in Malaysia.

Furthermore, thanks to the partnership with Symmid, Altis will be in an ideal position to support Asian customers and to gain access to the regional markets.

With the strong backing of Altis, local technology companies, such as Symmid, will be able to grow internationally and to increase their competences and competitiveness, in line with the national innovation model of Malaysia.
